RCC was tasked with unique and complex challenges with the remediation work at The Landings Apartments; to ensure high quality recladding, seismic strengthening and deck waterproofing all whilst maintaining maximum occupancy and minimal disruption to the residents.

Our staging approach ensured several key aspects of the project were able to be met. In co-ordination with the property managers and body corporate, RCC programmed the work over a series of carefully considered stages to effectively manage a key outcome of reducing disruption. 

Solutions involved:

  • 90 days advance notice to residents to vacate
  • Keeping vacated apartments to a minimum, generally 20 working days
  • Ensure high degree of communication between RCC, property managers, body corporate and residents
  • Allowing residents to return as early as possible through managed access to apartments

These strategies allowed for the project to be completed on time and with the full satisfaction of all stakeholders on what had unique and difficult challenges.

The RCC Remediate Site Manager gets on well with the building managers and the owners and conscientiously carries out his tasks on site. Each week Laurence and I carry out an inspection with Auckland Council and he takes pride in completing each of the individual stages of work on time.
