To construct additional bedrooms within the Muriwai and Wainamu Wards on a staged basis to manage minimum bed numbers throughout the project. The existing construction and as Built drawings were found to be very inaccurate and as such architectural, structural and services design had to be confirmed as the works were opened up.
A key to the overall success of the project was pre planning and daily morning pre start and afternoon close out meetings with key hospital staff to make them aware of the construction taking place each day and that planned for the next few days. This interface managed by our Site Manager was key to the smooth running of the project. Prior to new stages of the project being opened up consultants were advised to meet with RCC and key subcontractors to view the existing conditions and proposed details. These meetings were key in overcoming or minimising any delays with the existing structure, fire rating and services significantly different to the expected or as built documentation.
