Project Description

Construction of an apartment building at Ranfurly Village containing 27 apartments over three levels above a basement carpark together with significant hard and soft landscaping including preparation of the bowling green between the new building and the historic Ranfurly Home.

The Challenge

There were several challenges with the construction including traffic management to ensure construction traffic had no impact on our adjoining neighbours including the Ranfurly Aged Care Facility and other Ranfurly Village Residents and Staff. Services connections were required to the main services feeds to the entire village, being a aged care facility these had to be completed without disruption to services.

The Solution

A Site Specific Health and Safety/ Traffic Management Policy was developed after key inputs from the management of the Aged Care Facility, Ranfurly Village and Auckland Council this was adopted and managed on site throughout the various phases of construction to ensure that the construction activities had no adverse effects on the Ranfurly Village residents, staff or the public. The live connections were carried out without disruption of supply to the Aged Care Facility or other parts of the Village. These were undertaken with firstly detailed Task Analysis being prepared by contractors and reviewed prior to implementation.
