Construction of a new Humanities and Commerce and ICT Services Faculties for Kristin School was undertaken over a 9 month period.
Construction is of precast wall panels, precast and insitu concrete floors, steel roof structure with membrane roofing, aluminium curtain walls and windows.
Internal fitout included classroom and office joinery, audio visual and data services.
The building incorporated a new ICT services facility including a server room, and data & communication services for the entire school.
RCC worked closely with Kristin School to manage the installation and commissioning of the faculty ahead of completion to avoid disruption to the school.
Construction of this two stage building project adjacent Kristin School main entrance provided logistical and health and safety issues that had to be overcome to complete the construction with minimal disruption to the activities of the school, students, parents and the public.
Careful planning and development of a site specific health and safety plan that addressed the needs of both the school and the construction programme. This was done in conjunction with the school and resulted in deliveries only within preset times and a holding park for trucks that arrived outside of the agreed times. Working closely with the school we were able to deliver the project on programme and with minimal disruption to the schools activities.
“I am impressed with the professionalism of RCC. The key staff had a good understanding of how a school operates and I appreciate the fact that they go out of their way to minimise disruptions throughout the construction period. When problems arise, RCC ensures that they are resolved as quickly as possible to minimise any delays to the project. All stakeholders, including the Board of Governors are extremely happy with the outcome.”
